Your assistants can answer you in the chat apps your business already uses: Microsoft Teams, Slack, and others such as Google Chat, Discord, Matrix, Telegram and WhatsApp. You connect each one in the Maxiful app, and your Chief of Staff answers when you write to it there.
Where to start
In the Maxiful app, open the Connections page. It is not in the list on the left at first: open it from the menu beside Pages. Each chat app there has How to set up beside it, with its own steps.
Microsoft Teams
- Beside Microsoft Teams, choose Set up with Microsoft. Maxiful signs you in at Microsoft in your browser and creates your team's Teams app and bot, for your organisation only, and does not keep that sign-in. No Azure subscription is needed, but your Microsoft account needs the right to register apps in your organisation.
- Add the app in Teams and send your bot a direct message there. Then choose Send me my code on its card: your bot answers in that chat with a code. Enter it on the card.
- If your IT department makes the bot instead, How to set up shows the address to give them and the form for what they send back.
In Teams, your assistants answer in the same conversation you wrote in.
Slack
- Beside Slack, choose How to set up, then copy the app manifest with its button.
- At api.slack.com/apps, choose Create New App, then From a manifest, pick your Slack workspace and paste the manifest.
- Install the app to your Slack workspace and copy its two tokens.
- Paste both tokens into the form, with your own Slack member ID if you know it (in your Slack profile, under More, Copy member ID), and choose Save and connect.
- If you left your member ID out, send your bot a direct message from your own Slack account. It answers with a code: enter it on Slack's card.
You can also invite the bot to a Slack channel and choose which of your assistants answers there.
Other chat apps
Google Chat, Discord, Matrix, Telegram, WhatsApp and the others are set up the same way: choose How to set up beside the app and follow its steps.
Who can use your assistants there
Nobody, until you say so. In a direct message, only you and the people you add are answered. To let a colleague use your assistants in a chat app, add them on the Team page, under People, and link the chat account they use.
After setup
The tokens you paste stay on your computer. Your computer has to be on for your assistants to answer.
